Dr. Xianhuai Zhu received a Ph.D. in geosciences from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1990. He had been with Oxy (formerly UPR and Anadarko), PGS, and ConocoPhillips. In 2016, he founded Forland Geophysical Services Company (FGS) in Houston, developing and applying advanced near-surface imaging technologies for land and OBN seismic data acquisition, processing and interpretation. From SEG, he received the Reginald Fessenden Award in 2012 and the Life Membership Award in 2018. He was the Director-at-Large for the SEG Board of Directors (2014–2017), board member of the SEG Global Inc. (2022-2024), and the first vice president of the Geophysical Society of Houston (2017–2018). He was the president of CAPA in 2012.
