Dr. Bruce Z. Shang (尚柱成):  Sr. Technical Consultant at Marathon Oil Company. Before the current position, he was Reservoir Characterization Manager in Upstream Technology and has over 20 years of industry experience in field development and production, reservoir characterization, seismic algorithms, processing and interpretation, fault seal analysis, and risk and uncertainty analysis. He earned his B.S. in Geology from the China University of Petroleum, and PhD in Geophysics from the University of Houston. He is an active member of CAPA, SEG, AAPG, SPE, EAGE and GSH; has hosted/contributed to several SEG and SPE workshops, and received the “best of EAGE” presentation at the AAPG annual conference on fault seal analysis in 2007. Bruce is past president for China Overseas Petroleum Alumni (2006-07), and the inaugurating Chair for SEG Oil and Gas Reserves Committee (2008-2010).
